The Internet

High-speed internet access and availability has really freed us to live a rural lifestyle in a very technical world. Our software development company is dependent on the internet for marketing, sales and product support. Our T-1 line is our primary link to our prospects, customers and others in our industry, without being dependent on geography.

The same is true of our farm. Internet access has increased the amount of time that we can spend on our farm. And UPS/FedEx is our distribution channel. We have tested several internet technologies and found that internet access through our cellular telephones is the best for our personal use. To date, the internet has been a great resource for farm research, purchasing, agricultural law, etc. We have even bought the majority of our large equipment over the internet (fortunately for the UPS man, equipment is delivered by other means).

Now we have started our farm blog. We hope that this may be a good resource for other hobby farmers, as well as a source of entertainment as we continue our agricultural learning.
